Community college registrati­on is Jan. 16

STONE RIDGE, N.Y. » Final registrati­on for the spring 2018 semester at SUNY Ulster, 491 Cottekill Road, will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in Room 220 of Hasbrouck Hall on the community college’s Stone Ridge campus.

Representa­tives of a number of the college’s academic department­s, admissions, financial aid, registrar, and student accounts will be available for advising and informatio­n during the registrati­on period.

Spring 2018 classes will begin on Monday, Jan. 22.

Students just starting the financial aid process may put down a $50 deposit to hold their registrati­on.

All other students should sign up for the college’s tuition payment plan or remit payment in full.

Boys and Girls Club plans awards dinner

The first Boys & Girls Club Shining Star Recognitio­n Dinner will be held Friday, Jan. 26 (snow date Saturday, Jan. 27) at Diamond Mills Hotel & Tavern.

The honoree for the Shining Star Award for Individual Service will be given to Joseph Fay, the longtime executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ulster County.

The Kiwanis Club of Saugerties will be honored with the Shining Star Community Service Award for its long-term commitment to the Saugerties community, as well as its dedication to the Boys & Girls Club.

The Shining Star Recognitio­n Dinner is expected to become an annual event, with all funds raised to ensure the future of the Boys & Girls Club’s Saugerties Unit.
