Highland eases to easy victory over Red Hook

RED HOOK, N.Y. » Highland High opened up a 21-4 advantage in the first that proved to be too much for Red Hook to overcome as the Huskies routed the Raiders, 58-31, in a MidHudson Athletic League girls basketball game.

Red Hook managed to hold Highland to eight points in the second, but the Huskies held a 29-12 lead at halftime, and they piled on 19 more in the third to put the game out of reach.

Brianna Rozzi scored 14 points and Candace McCutcheon had 12 to lead the Huskies.

At Kyserike, Erin Lofaro scored 22 points as the Dukes powered pass the Ganders.

Marlboro built a 17-8 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 36-19 at the half and they never looked back.

Talaya Lewis scored 13 points, Jetta Stephens had 12 and Elizabeth Lofaro added 11 to lead the Dukes.

At Ellenville, Azela Rivera scored 16 points and had six steals to lead the Devils over the Eagles.

Daina Frasca scored 11 points and had 12 reboudns and Kayla Gibson added 14 points and 11 boards to round out Ellenville’s attack.

Ashley Hillard scored 1o pints and Juliette Patterson added nine points for the Eagles.
