Joan C. Howard, 91, of Port Ewen

Joan C. Howard, formerly of Stanley St. and Clifton Ave., Kingston died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at her home in Riverview. She was 91.

She was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late Timothy and Kathryn Reilly Conlon. Prior to her marriage Joan worked as secretary for Dwyer’s Boatyard. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Church where she previously taught CCD and was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. On Sept. 30, 1950 she married James E. Howard who passed away on Aug. 23, 2010.

Surviving are her children, Cathleen Howard of Port Ewen, Dennis (Louise) Howard of Saratoga and Christine Howard of Kingston. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Her brother, Robert Conlon and her sister, Phyllis Conlon died previously.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Thursday at 9 a.m. and proceed to St. Mary’s Church for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
