The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Cairo
• DWI/Obstruction: Katherine L. Kelly, 27, of Watervleit, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at 851 Main St. and was charged with drunken driving and obstruction of justice, both misdemeanors, and refusing a breath test, an infraction. Kelly was sent to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail pending a court appearance.
• Marijuana: Mark A. Shackelton, 52, of Cairo, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 7:26 a.m. Wednesday at 16 Kirschner Road and was charged with unlawfully growing cannabis and with possession of more than two ounces of marijuana, both misdemeanors. Shackelton was released with an appearance ticket for Cairo Town Court.
Livingston
• Stolen property: Esther Gray, 32, of Hudson, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday at the state police barracks and was charged with possession of stolen property, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Grya was released with a ticket for Livingston Town Court.
Rosendale
• Grand larceny: Tara M. Dodd, 53, of Cottekill, was arrested by state police at Ulster on Tuesday and charged with grand larceny, a felony. Dodd is accused of stealing personal checks from an acquaintance and forging and cashing the checks for more than $3,000. She was released with an appearance ticket for Rosendale Town Court.
Town of Ulster
• DWI: Joseph M. Terpening, 35, of Lake Katrine, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 1:59 a.m. Saturday in the drive-thru lane of a fast food restaurant and was charged with drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving, both felonies. Terpening was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500 jail pending a court appearance.
• DWI: Benjamin Eamon
Volin-Kelder, 26, of Philadelphia, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 8:09 p.m. Saturday on Ulster Avenue after being stopped for driving without tail lamps and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors, and having no tail lights, an infraction. Volin-Kelder was released with an appearance-ticket for Ulster Town Court. DWI: Liam Taylor, 38, of Kingston, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 1:20 a.m. Saturday after failing to signal a lane change and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors, and unsafe lane change, an infraction. Taylor was released with an appearance ticket for Ulster Town Court.
Wawarsing
Endangering: John C. Cole, 33, of Ellenville, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 2:04 p.m. Wednesday at the state police barracks at 6721 U.S. Route 209, and was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and with harassment, a violation. Cole was released with an appearance ticket for Wawarsing Town Court.
Woodstock
Bail jumping: Mark A. Houghtaling, 30, of Saugerties, was arrested by Woodstock police on Wednesday and was charged with bail jumping, a misdemeanor. He had previously been arraigned on misdemeanor charges of aggravated unlicensed driving and criminal possession of a controlled substance, posted bail and failed to appear in Woodstock Town Court as instructed. Houghtaling was arraigned in Woodstock Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail pending a further court appearance.
