KINGSTON » David John Goble, 66, of Albany Avenue, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at the Golden Hill Healthcare Center.

Born April 23, 1951, in Saugerties, he was the son of the late David and Marjorie Goble.

David was a kind and gentle man. He loved his family and friends and traveled many highways during his life. He was one of the youngest to be recognized for earning his Eagle Scout award at age 13 in the Rip Van Winkle Council. A graduate of Saugerties High School, he graduated magna cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and mathematic­s from University of Buffalo and Oneonta State. He loved to hike the Catskill Mountains, camping, campfires day and night, and living in the wilderness. He enjoyed drawing and abstract painting. He would take colors by numbers and use his own colors that brought out the beauty. He took up crocheting and again created his own designs. He enjoyed giving them to family and friends. David was an avid player of Risk, Ping-Pong and enjoyed computers, chess, fishing, and 3-D puzzles. He best enjoyed his vegetable and flower gardens and will be missed by all.

Survivors include two sisters, Marcia Kemp of Potsdam, N.Y., and Joan (Bryan) Crump of Colton, N.Y.; two brothers, Brian (friend-Robin) of Kingston, N.Y., and Bruce (Sharon) of Leraysvill­e, Pa. He was a loving uncle and grand uncle to many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

His service will be private. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette streets, Saugerties.
