Marlboro’s Allen, Onteora’s Eberhard lead teams to wins

KINGSTON, N.Y. » Marlboro High’s Jaiden Allen and Miles Eberhard of Onteora had career-high scoring performanc­es Friday night to lead their boys basketball teams to victories.

Allen scored 39 points to lead Marlboro to a 7744 win over Liberty, while Eberhard tossed in 44 in the Eagles’ 77-57 triumph over Dover. Marlboro 77, Liberty 44

At Marlboro, Allen hit a school-record nine 3-point field goals to fuel his career best in the non-league contest.

John Perugino added 13 points for the (10-2) Iron Dukes, who built a 35-22 lead at the half. At Boiceville, Eberhard narrowly missed a tripledoub­le to pace Onteora. Along with his 44 points, he also grabbed 11 rebounds, nabbed nine steals and dished out four assists. Eberhard tallied six points in the first quarter, 15 in the second, 12 in the third and 11 in the fourth. He did not have a 3-point shot.

Jake Stern chipped in with 14 points, four assists and four steals and Dan Meisler added seven points to the winning effort.
