Kingston bows in regular-season finale

Valley Central spoiled Kingston High’s regular-season finale for boys swimming Friday, defeating the Tigers 113-72 in an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n dual meet.

Kingston closed out the season with a 2-7 record. Up next is the OCIAA championsh­ips, with the diving at Cornwall on Feb. 1 and the Division I meet on Feb. 3 at Washington­ville.

Cameron Fairley and Scott Kleeschult­e each won two races for the Tigers. Fairley swept the distance freestyles with a 1:57.95 in the 200-yard event and 5:18.87 in the 500. Kleeschult­e took the 50-free in 23.35 seconds and also won the butterfly (56.76).

Mason Delisio was second in the backstroke (1:06.87) and third in the 200-free (2:06.40) for Kingston, while Dominic Vertullo placed second in the breaststro­ke (1:11.67) and third in the individual medley (2:26.46). 200 medley relay: 1.
