An opportunit­y to learn bike mechanics and build and earn their own new bike. Classes are 6-9 p.m. Mondays Feb. 5-April 2 at the YMCA in midtown Kingston. Program is led by profession­al mechanics Anthony Ferrante, Billy Denter and David Bard and assisted by Rosemary Quinn. Each session focuses on a different bike component so that, by the end of the course, the whole bike is completely rebuilt and ready to ride. Class maximum is 10 students. There is again no cost, but a commitment to attend all sessions is required. There will be a pizza dinner each night. All students receive a bike helmet, lights and a lock at completion of the program, which is supported by Tour De Kingston, Helen’s Hope Foundation, Bike Brothers Bike Shop, Overlook Mountain Bicycles, Park Tool Company and Ulster County Habitat for Humanity.
