STONE RIDGE » Randy L. Hornbeck, age 62, of Stone Ridge, N.Y., died on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018.

Born on May 26, 1955, in Kingston, N.Y., he was the son of the late Roger S. Hoornbeek and Marlene M. (Winchell) Dunn.

Randy was a communityo­riented individual, always supporting local organizati­ons and businesses. He was a town councilman in Rochester and had been a strong advocate for the Accord Fire Company during the establishm­ent of its retirement program. Randy was a successful business owner over the years, having been a real estate developer and establishi­ng Hornbeck Trucking and Hornbeck Fuel. He loved working the family farm in Stone Ridge, riding motorcycle­s, watching NASCAR, and was proud of earning his pilot’s license at the Ellenville Airport.

Besides his mother, Marlene, Randy is survived by the love of his life, Laurie Hoornbeek. Also surviving are his sons, Randall S. Hornbeck and his wife Sarah of Stone Ridge and Brian J. Hoornbeek and his wife Sarah of Stone Ridge; his grandchild­ren, Travis, Ryan and Wyatt Hornbeck, and Elizabeth Hoornbeek; his siblings, Roger (Rose) Hoornbeek, Valerie Friedlande­r, Troy (Jackie) Dunn, Sherry (Nick) Edson, Ronnie (Jodie) Dunn, Vinnie (Barbara) Dunn, Sue Gunther, and Bruce Hoornbeek; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his dear friend, Jim Slavin. Besides his father, Randy was predecease­d by his stepfather, Vincent Dunn, and his daughter-in-law, Sandra Hornbeck.

Memorial visiting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebratio­n of life service will begin that evening at 7:30 p.m.
