Columnists, AP pursue ‘jihad’ against Trump

-

Dear Editor: I am your preferred customer. I usually enjoy my paper with a cup of coffee in the morning.

But alas! Other than columnist Cal Thomas, many columnists and The Associated Press have joined in a jihad against President Trump. AP articles read more like editorials than news.

The recent tax bill is reported as giving 83 percent of the tax break to the rich. Really? They are possibly including the reduction of corporate tax rates from 39 percent to 21 percent. This is not a tax reduction for the rich, but for the country. This lower tax rate is an invitation for more domestic and foreign investment as indicated by Apple’s $350 billion American investment. Monies locked by U.S. corporations overseas due to the return high tax rate (now reduced to 15.5 percent) is coming home for investment in the U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan noted his home state of Wisconsin lost Johnson Controls (thermostats) to Ireland, which has a 17 percent corporate tax rate.

Much ado was noted by Trump’s alleged scatological references to some countries. Interestingly, two years ago, President Obama said the same thing about Libya. He probably meant that the conditions in that country makes life difficult for its citizens. Trump, likewise.

The economy is roaring, no doubt due to Trump’s regulatory and tax reform. Whether the economy, immigration, energy independence or a constitutionally minded court, Trump is looking out for America.
