Town of Ulster

• Drugs: Samuel T. DeGroat, 43, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 10:15 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 209 and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeano­r. He was issued a court appearance ticket, police said.

Athens

• DWI: Kyle M. Hotaling, 25, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 2:32 a.m. Friday on Green Lake Road and was charged with driving while intoxicate­d and driving with a bloodalcoh­ol content exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs. He was issued a court appearance ticket.

Durham

• DWI: Tracey Edwards, 36, of Cairo, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 9:03 p.m. Thursday on state Route 67 in Durham and was charged with driving while intoxicate­d and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs. Edwards was issued a court appearance ticket.

Esopus

• Contempt: Jeffrey Litts, 24, of Ulster Park, was arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday on charges of criminal contempt, a felony, and obstructin­g government­al administra­tion, a misdemeano­r. Deputies said they were called at about 8:30 p.m. to a residence on Union Center Road in an attempt to execute an arrest warrant. An investigat­ion determined that Litts had violated an order of protection by calling the protected party and by being at the party’s residence, deputies said. Litts was arraigned in Esopus Town Court and sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail pending a further court appearance.

Greenport

• Drugs: Christophe­r Gere, 25, of Catskill, was arrested by Columbia County sheriff’s deputies at 10 p.m. Sunday on state Route 9G on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeano­r, and possession of marijuana, a violation. Also arrested was Kenneth Calabrese, 30, of Catskill, on charges of aggravated unlicensed driving, a misdemeano­r, and following too closely, an infraction. Deputies said the two were arrested following a traffic stop. Both were released with tickets to appear in Greenport Town Court.

Livingston

• Menacing: Richard J. Staats, 51, of Livingston, was arrested by state police at Livingston at 6:50 p.m. Thursday on two misdemeano­r counts each of menacing and endangerin­g the welfare of a child. Police said troopers responded at 6:15 p.m. Thursday to a reported domestic dispute at a residence on Deer Haven Road. An investigat­ion determined Staats menaced and endangered the welfare of a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old during the dispute, police said. Staats was arraigned in Claverack Town Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $250 bail pending a court appearance.

Saugerties

• DWI: Luis A. Marcial, 26, of Tannersvil­le, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 1:08 a.m. Friday on state Route 32 in Saugerties and was charged with driving while intoxicate­d and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Marcial was issued a court appearance ticket.
