Logan John Benson, 4 months, of Saugerties
SAUGERTIES » Logan John Benson passed away on Jan. 25, 2018, in the arms of his loving parents at the Albany Medical Center NICU. Logan fought fiercely throughout his 4 months and 26 days of his life, providing inspiration and hope to all who met him.
Logan lived his entire life in the hospital due to being diagnosed with Acardi-Goutieres Syndrome and heart complications. This extremely rare syndrome required constant monitoring and care. Logan is survived by his parents, Christopher and Amanda Benson; paternal grandparents, Pamela and Michael Olson; maternal grandparents, Lisa and Dean Leonard; maternal great-grandparents, John and Jean Winne; and several aunts, uncles, and family.
Logan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Benson; paternal great-aunt, Deborah Arnold; paternal great-grandparents, David and Anneke Arnold; and maternal great-grandmother, Henrietta (Cookie) Winne.
Logan embodied perseverance and the warrior spirit. When enduring many medical procedures, he always showed love and exuberance. During his short time on earth, he touched the hearts of many and was deeply loved by family and friends.
Viewing times will be at Lasher Funeral Home, 100 Tinker St., Woodstock, N.Y., on Jan. 27, 2017, from noon to 4 p.m., followed by a memorial service at the Reservoir United Methodist Church at 3056 NY-28, Shokan, N.Y., at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Albany NICU at 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany, N.Y.
