Allen, Casey lead Marlboro to win
Jaiden Allen had 26 points and 12 rebounds, as Marlboro High edged Saugerties 7672 in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League boys basketball game Tuesday.
The Sawyers had a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter, but an 18-12 second gave the (15-2) Dukes a 31-28 lead at the half. Marlboro extended that advantage to 51-45 heading into the final period of play.
Austin Casey had 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while John Pergugino added 20 points to lead Marlboro.
Dior Johnson scored a game-high 33 points and Liam Schoonmaker added 13 to pace Saugerties. At Highland, ahead 4125 at the half, the Huguenots held the Huskies to single digits in the third and fourth quarters to roll to victory.
