Maritime Museum hosts family event

KINGSTON, N.Y. » The Hudson River Maritime Museum will hold its winter membership drive on Feb. 17 from 3 to 6 p.m.

At the family event, participants can learn various nautical knots, and craft a decorative knot necklace, bracelet or keychain. The event will also include instructions on how to make a Celtic Heart Knot, Barrel Knot or Endless Falls Knot.

Museum staff will assist guests in decorative knot tying and teach practical knots to help prepare for the boating season. Participants can also create their own decorative knots.

Cost of admission is $35 for individuals or a discounted rate of $50 for families.

Current members are encouraged to gift their membership to a friend. Children under 12 years old get in free. Tickets available at www.hrmm. org. Members receive invitations to exclusive events, docking privileges at museum docks, free admission year-round, and discounts on classes.
