Library hosts Rhinecliff Sustainabi­lity Series event

WHAT: Rhinecliff Sustainabi­lity Series event WHEN: Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. WHERE: Morton Memorial Library, 82 Kelly St., Rhinecliff DETAILS: The series will present a program titled “Seeds of Solidarity: Growing Food for the Re-Love-ution. The presentati­on will feature Deb Habib and Ricky Baruc, founders of Seed of Solidarity Farm and Education Center in Orange, Mass., where they created a farm and home oasis, and non-profit organizati­on from the ground up. Through slides and interactiv­e conversati­on, beginning and experience­d growers will gain practical ideas for using local resources to create low-maintenanc­e gardens from lawns to lots to farms while conserving water, helping restore the climate, and promoting food access and diverse community partnershi­ps. The event is sponsored by Back Yard to Table and admission is free.
