Rose F. Gardner, 89, of Kingston, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Feb. 16, 2018, at her son’s home in New Bern, N.C.

Rose was born on Sept. 8, 1928, in Kingston, N.Y., to John and Mary Schebilski. A lifelong Kingston resident, she graduated from Kingston High School in 1946. For many years, she worked as a seamstress at a local factory. In 1948, she married Ralph Gardner, the love of her life. Together, they built their own home and filled it with love and four children: Linda (Doug) Getman, David (Patricia) Gardner, LeeAnn (Rozell) Hawkins, and Tammy Brewster.

Rose Always had a smile on her face and happily greeted all who entered her home. She enjoyed spending time with her ever-growing family and her many friends who often came to visit and gossip. All were welcome to share stories and laughter over coffee, lunch or just a snack. She was also a brave breast cancer survivor.

Rose was extremely proud of her many grandchild­ren: David and Brad Gardner, Jessica Clapper, Taryn and Lisa Lukaszewsk­i, Michelle (Jay) Lockwood, Matthew Hawkins, Tony, Stephen and Kayla Brewster, and many greatgrand­children.

Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston, N.Y., 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, N.Y.
