Highland meets Millbrook in MHAL title game
Huskies, Blazers set to square off tonight
Highland High faces Millbrook in the Mid-Hudson Athletic League title game tonight at SUNY Ulster.
STONE RIDGE, N.Y. » Highland High and Millbrook will square off in Thursday’s Mid-Hudson Athletic League championship game after both teams earned victories in Tuesday’s semifinals at SUNY Ulster.
The Huskies advanced with a 40-28 victory over Roosevelt for the American Conference title, while the Blazers pulled away in the second half to defeat Spackenkill 59-39 for the National Conference crown.
Thursday’s title game at Ulster is scheduled for 7 p.m., following the boys final at 5.
Sam Garcia had 10 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Huskies, who led 17-15 at halftime and took control in the second half. Bri Rozzi had nine points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while Candace McCutcheon added 11 points and three steals.
Kelsea Demelis scored eight points, while Deliah Smith and Kamryn Hammond each had six to lead Roosevelt.
