Patricia M. Damke, 71, of Highland

Patricia M. Damke, 71, of Highland, N.Y., unexpectedly passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 21, 2018, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 14, 1946, to Marjorie and George Keenen (predeceased) and raised in Poughkeepsie.

Patty was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who fully lived and enjoyed her years alongside her life partner and husband, Erich. Together they have raised five children. Patty is survived by her husband, Erich Damke of Highland; children, Angelique Anthony, Kimberly Gage with husband Jay, Susannah Kaplan with husband Jon, Erich Damke with wife Marie, and Heidi Parrish with husband Tom; 13 grandchildren, Brandon, Dante, Vivian, Lucas, Ashley, Danielle, Joseph, Kayleigh, Abigaile, Josuha, Matthew, Hunter and Emma; and two greatgrandchildren, Theodore and Amelia.

She is also survived by her loving sisters, Andrea Farewell of Rhinebeck and Gabrielle Keenen of Kingston. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patty valued holiday gatherings with family and loved ones. She loved good stories and laughter. She enjoyed frequent vacations to the beach, camping, and long drives resulting in quiet dinners with her husband. Patty was an animal lover who also found happiness in watching her grandchildren growing up.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Patricia will be held Saturday, March 3, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in New Paltz, N.Y. Father Sal and Father Yaya will celebrate the Mass. Interment of ashes and burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery at a later date.
