Mary Agnes Elizabeth Fugazzi, 90, of Bloomington

Mary Agnes Elizabeth Fugazzi, a former longtime resident of Bloomington and the Hudson Valley, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine. She was 90 years old.

Mary was born in the Bronx on June 14, 1927, to the late James Joseph Fitzpatrick and Mary Dunnigan.

Mary moved to the Hudson Valley with her late husband, Arthur G. Fugazzi, in 1968. She worked at Waldbaum’s in Kingston for many years. There, she sang her way to starring roles of both the fruit and deli departments. Mary dearly loved her family. She also enjoyed a good Irish meal and socializing with her friends. She liked to travel, and always had stories about her time in Florida, lobsters in Maine, and entertaining cruise lines. Mary loved to laugh and was always full of life. Mary had been a resident of Ten Broeck Commons since 2013 and was active in the Residents Council and the Red Hatters.

Mary is reunited with her husband, Arthur Fugazzi; her daughter, Mary Frances Wright; and three grandchildren, Eric, Christian, and Erin.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan Magliola (Scott); sons, George Fugazzi (Denise), and Arthur Fugazzi, all of Stone Ridge. She was the grandmother of Katriana Vitthuhn, Brianna Fugazzi, Sidney, Sam and Seth Magliola, and great grandmother to Vaelyn Vitthuhn, all of whom brought great joy to her life. The family sends very special thanks to all of the loving staff at Ten Broeck Commons, especially to Jamie and the staff of the Esopus Unit.

Visitation for family and friends will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Following the visitation at 1 p.m., the Rev. Edmund Burke will officiate her funeral service. Interment will be in Hurley Cemetery.
