Ron Biggé, 80, of Esopus

-

With great sadness we announce the passing of Ron Biggé of Esopus, N.Y., on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, at the age of 80.

Ron was born on April 25, 1937, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Joseph and Julia Biggé.

He leaves behind his adoring wife, Margot, whom he met in Eddyville, N.Y., the first weekend she had emigrated from her home in Scotland, Great Britain. He leaves behind his loving son, Ron Biggé, his wife, Melissa, and grandchildren, the lights of his life, Gavin and Olivia; and his brother-in-law, Tom Donald, and his wife Jill, niece and nephew, Kacie Fisher and Andrew Donald, and their respective families.

Ron was predeceased by his brother, Joseph, and sister, Beatrice.

Ron attended Pratt Institute of Technology studying electrical and mechanical engineering, served in the Army National Guard, and then began a long career as an engineer. There was nothing he couldn’t design or repair, which became very useful in his second career with Margot, opening an antiques’ and repair shop in Rhinebeck, N.Y.

Ron and Margot sought out the best in local, live music and became relentless followers and friends of singer/songwriter Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys, driving wherever they could to see him.

We will miss him so much for who he was, the best husband, father, friend, craftsman, and a great patriot.

There will be no visitation but condolences may be left at www.GJMoylanFuneralHome.com or mailed to Margot and her son Ron Biggé at P.O. Box 16, Esopus, N.Y., 12429.

Arrangements by the George J. Moylan Funeral Home, 2053 Rt. 32, Rosendale, N.Y.
