Athletic Hall of Fame seeking nominations
KINGSTON, N.Y. » Nominations are now being accepted for the 2018 class of the Kingston High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
The Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes and honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Tiger athletic program and, in some cases, at the college, professional and Olympic levels, through their participation as athletes, coaches, supporters or administrators.
Those chosen by the selection committee for the Hall of Fame will be inducted at an Induction Dinner as part of Homecoming Weekend in the fall.
The requirements to be inducted into the Hall of Fame are as follows:
• Athletes must have graduated from Kingston High School and have attended Kingston High School for at least the last two years before graduation.
• Athletes will become eligible for nomination 10 years after they graduated. For the first round of nominations, this means athletes must have graduated in 2007 or before.
• Athletes must have contributed significantly to the positive image of Kingston athletics.
• Coaches, administrators and supporters who are not Kingston High School graduates can be nominated if, over a significant period of time, that person has contributed greatly to Kingston athletics in an extremely positive fashion.
• Coaches, administrators and supporters will become eligible for nomination five years after they end their service to the school.
• A whole team can be nominated after 15 years. The team will be listed on one plaque as a single selection for that Hall of Fame year.
