Kindergarten, pre-K screenings scheduled

Ellenville Elementary School will conduct kindergarten and prekindergarten screening the week of May 21, between the hours of 9:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., at the school.

Information collected will help school personnel plan for classes in the fall.

In order to enter kindergarten in September, a child must be 5 years old by Dec. 1.

In order to enter prekindergarten, a child must be 4 years old by Dec. 1.

Enrollment for prekindergarten is limited and might have to be determined by a lottery. Also, the prekindergarten program is contingent on state funding.

Parents must provide their child’s birth certificate, proof of immunizations, proof of residency, and proof of guardianship if necessary.

Parents also must provide their own photo identification.
