» Barbara Hill Lebhar, 84, of Melbourne Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at home.

A resident of Hurley, N.Y., for 50 years, she was born in Poughkeeps­ie, N.Y., on Oct. 12, 1933, to the late Robert G. and Alice Wheeler Hill. Barbara attended Oakwood Friends School and LaSalle College. She married Kenneth J. Burgess Sr. on Dec. 23, 1952, and married Norman G. Lebhar on June 25, 1977. Always a gracious hostess, famous for her spaghetti and meatball dinners, Barbara and Norman loved to entertain family and friends, be it a Medievalth­emed New Year’s Eve or a Thanksgivi­ng feast. She was an avid golf and tennis competitor and also enjoyed a game of Scrabble or cards. Barbara was a very talented artist who studied at the Woodstock School of Art in New York state and painted over 200 works.

She is survived by her three children, John Burgess of San Antonio, Texas, Kenneth (Jay) Burgess Jr. of Hurley, N.Y., and David Burgess of Somerswort­h, N.H.; and three stepchildr­en, Lauren Lebhar of Rockport, Mass., Lisbeth Stone of Rockport, Mass., and John Lebhar of Hatfield, Mass. She was a grandmothe­r to five grandchild­ren, two greatgrand­children, and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was predecease­d by her brother, David W. Hill, and sister, Alice Jane Maloney.

There will be no calling hours.

A celebratio­n of life will be held April 9, 2018, at her home in Melbourne Beach, Fla., and June 3, 2018, in Hurley, N.Y. Barbara loved flowers, so feel free to send some. A Celebratio­n of Life will be held in Melbourne Beach, Fla., on April 8, 2018, at 3 p.m., and in Hurley, N.Y., on June 2, 2018, at 3 p.m. Please contact the family if you would like to attend.
