SAUGERTIES » Robert L. Webb, 85, of Cottonwood Circle, died Thursday, March 22, 2018, at his residence.

Born March 22, 1933, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late Leslie Webb and Marie Crown Webb.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War. He was employed for many years at Union Carbide as a mechanical technician and in later years as a consultant.

He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lake Katrine, where he formerly served as a bishop. He was also a member of the National Rifle Associatio­n. Predecease­d by his wife, Sheila Webb in 2004, he is survived by three sons, Michael (Elaine) Webb of Hopewell Junction, Scot (Patty) Webb of Gales Ferry, Conn., and John Webb of Saugerties. Eight grandchild­ren, 16 greatgrand­children, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

He was predecease­d by his brother, Douglas Webb.

His funeral service will be held at noon Saturday,

March 31, 2018, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lake Katrine. Interment will follow in Mount Marion Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m. at
