New Paltz church hosts Earth Day Fair on April 21
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. » The Reformed Church of New Paltz, 92 Huguenot St., will
have its annual Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition to the fun, interactive and educational aspects usually associated with the fair, the event will have a special event in the afternoon. Leaders from several faith communities will gather together on the church steps at 1 p.m. During this interfaith celebration, each leader will share a prayer or blessing
from their faith community on the importance of caring for creation.
A wide variety of local environmentally friendly people and groups will be on hand to share sustainable ways of caring for the Earth and its inhabitants. Children’s activities are planned throughout the day. Delicious healthy food will be available for purchase. Enjoy all of this in an old-fashioned church picnic atmosphere.
Music from several area groups will be featured as well. Spirit of Thunderheart, Wind and Stone, The Chai Notes, the B2’s and
Bloom, Betty and the Baby Boomers and the Rosendale Improvement Association Brass Band & Social Club with Tin Horn Uprising will perform on the church porch starting at 10:45 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.
The event is sponsored by Interfaith Earth Action, the Caring for Creation Committee of the Reformed Church of New Paltz and the New Paltz Climate Action Coalition. Admission is free.
