Lunch and Learn events begin May 2
KINGSTON, N.Y. » The Ulster County Office for the Aging is accepting reservations for its Lunch and Learn events, which begin Wednesday, May 2.
All of the Lunch and Learn programs are from noon to 2 p.m. and will take place at Gateway Industries, 1 Amy Kay Parkway.
The dates of the programs and their topics are as follows:
• May 2, Emergency Preparedness.
• June 12, Movement Disorders.
• July 24, Financial Exploitations. • Aug. 21, Aging Well. • Sept. 25, Home Safe Home.
• Oct. 11, Sleep Well and Sweet Dreams.
• Nov. 14, Senior Driver Safety.

Senior groups list meeting schedules
WOODSTOCK, N.Y. » The
Woodstock Senior Citizens Club will meet Wednesday, April 18, at noon at the Community Center on Rock City Road.
The speaker will be Frank Almquist. He will speak about the building of the Ashokan Reservoir.
Dutchess Home Energy Assistance program open until April 27
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. » The Dutchess County Office for the Aging’s Home Energy Assistance Program remains open for the season until Friday, April 27.
As long as clients get their applications in by the that date, they will still be considered for a HEAP
benefit. HEAP is also offering emergency benefits to clients who have already used up their original HEAP benefits. There are two emergency benefits available per HEAP household.
The HERR program (Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement) and Clean and Tune program also remain open. Clients can apply for a clean and tune of their heating equipment once per year. No close date has been announced for either program, as they are ongoing throughout the season.
