Delgado has fundraisin­g lead in 19th District

The Rhinebeck Democrat has taken in the most money among the contenders for Rep. John Faso's House seat.

Democrat Antonio Delgado of Rhinebeck continues to be the fundraisin­g leader among the candidates seeking to challenge Republican U.S. Rep. John Faso for New York’s 19th Congressio­nal District seat.

Delgado had raised nearly $2 million as of March 31, including $461,637 in the most recent quarter alone, according to the latest campaign finance filings posted by the Federal Election Commission and a press release.

As of March 31, Delgado had spent $743,125.98, leaving him with $1,199,937.78 on hand.

Faso, R-Kinderhook, had raised $1,662,240.45 to fuel his bid for a second twoyear term, according to his campaign filings. Of that, approximat­ely $609,000 came from “other committee contributi­ons.” He spent $775,838.44, leaving him with $989,831 on hand as of March 31.

Democrat Brian Flynn of Elka Park had raised more than $1.4 million and had more than $900,000 on hand as of March 31, according to a press release. His most recent filings, however, were not listed on the Federal Election Commission website as of Monday afternoon. He previously loaned his campaign $650,000.

Flynn’s press release said he raised more than $150,000 in the most recent quarter.

Democrat Patrick Ryan of Gardiner raised $1,330,108.34 as of March 31, with more than $422,000 coming in the most recent quarter, according to a press release and financial filings. He spent $371,040.62 as of the end of the most recent quarter, leaving him $959,067.72 on hand. Of the total raised, $566 came from candidate contributi­ons, according to financial filings.

Democrat Gareth Rhodes of Kerhonkson raised $685,159.93 as of March 31, spending $207,229.87 total. He was left with $477,930.06 on hand. Of his total raised, $235,000 was brought in over the most recent quarter, his campaign said in a release.

Democrat David Clegg of Woodstock raised $649,794.53 and spent $198,115.94. He was left with $451,678.59 as of March 31. Of the total raised, $418,000 was in the form of loans by the candidate and $35,367 in candidate contributi­ons, according to the financial filings.

Democrat Jeffrey Beals of Woodstock raised $261,579.50 and spent $175,646.80. He was left with $85,932.70 on hand as of March 31. Of the total raised, $56,000 was in the form of a loan by the candidate.

Democrat Erin Collier of Cooperstow­n raised nearly $100,000 as of March 31, her campaign said in a press release. Her financial filings were not available on the Federal Election Commission website.

Collier did not announce her candidacy until March 12.

The 19th Congressio­nal District comprises all of Ulster, Greene, Columbia, Sullivan, Delaware, Schoharie and Otsego counties; most of Dutchess County; parts of Rensselaer and Montgomery counties; and a small piece of Broome County.

A Democratic primary in the district will be held June 26.

Financial filings were not available for Green Party candidate Steven Greenfield of New Paltz, or independen­t candidates Diane Neal of Hurley or Luisa Parker of Callicoon.
