Harrell leads Kingston in Cornwall invitation­al

Jaid Harrell met the state standard in the high jump for Kingston High in its first track and field invitation­al of the season.

CORNWALL, N.Y. » Jaid Harrell met the state standard in the high jump, leading a solid outing by Kingston High in its first track and field invitation­al meet of the season.

Harrell cleared 5-foot-3 to meet the standard at the Cornwall Green Dragon Relays. She had the best jump of the day and combined with Grace Longendyke to place second at the meet.

The Tigers’ throwers had a big day. Adrienne Crawford was fourth overall in the varsity javelin (72-2.5) and third in both the freshman/sophomore shot put ()29-10.5) and discus (92-7).

Monica Reyes had the top shot put with 36-8.5 heave and was second overall with a 102-1 discus throw. She teamed with Stephanie Green to place second in the shot and third in the discus.

Jack McDonough was eighth

overall in both the shot put (38-4.50 and discus (110-3).

The boys varsity distance medley relay team of Andy Lopez, Ben Osborn, Bailey Ryan and Robert Becker was second in 10:52.32. In the frosh/soph 2000-meter steeplecha­se , Hailie TerBush as second (8:03.89) and Morgan Juric (8:29.33) took fourth.

Kingston will host Monroe-Woodbury in an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n dual meet Tuesday.
