Harold (Hal) Charles Holly, 87, of Montgomery Village, Md.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD. » Harold (Hal) Charles Holly, recently of Montgomery Village, Md., went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 13, 2018.

Harold was born on June 29, 1930, in New York City, and was a resident of Stone Ridge, N.Y., for 50 years.

Hal was blessed to be married to two beautiful, spirited women, Lois. C. (Miglino) Holly whom he married in 1951 and who passed away in 1999, and then to Gail O’Kelly in 2001 who passed away in 2017.

He is survived by his three sons, Douglas (Cindy), Daniel (Tara), and David (Maggie); seven grandchild­ren, Michelle, Amy (Glen), Derek (Tish), Todd, Patrick, Matthew, and Rebecca; and four great-grandchild­ren.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy (1948-1950), and worked for Republic Aviation Corporatio­n and IBM, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a longtime volunteer at the YMCA in Kingston and an active parishione­r and volunteer at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Rosendale. He also volunteere­d with several other local organizati­ons including the Stone Ridge Library and Ulster County CASA.

For those that knew Hal, he lived his life as if it was a musical and he never met a stranger.

His funeral will be held Friday 9:15 a.m. from the George J. Moylan Funeral Home, Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Rosendale. Rev. Edmund Burke will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Rosendale. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Rosendale.
