Gloria C. Boyle, 89, of Saugerties
SAUGERTIES » Gloria C. Boyle, 89, of Village Drive, Saugerties died Friday, April 13, 2018, at her home.
She was born in Amsterdam, N.Y.; a daughter of the late Anthony and Jennie Valerio Cavalier. Gloria was a graduate of Amsterdam High School and worked as an operator for NY telephone. She married James F. Boyle on Aug. 5, 1950, and raised a family of five children.
In 1964, they moved to Saugerties, N.Y. Gloria worked in retail in the Saugerties/Kingston area when her children were older. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow Church and a member of the Saugerties Columbiettes. Gloria enjoyed bowling and golfing with her husband, family, and friends. She liked working in her yard, doing crossword puzzles and redecorating her home.
Gloria was a patient and gentle woman. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She loved hosting parties and holidays with family and friends.
Her husband of 62
years, James, died on Dec. 13, 2012. She was also predeceased by her sister, Eileen Paris; grandson, Steven J. Martin; and son-inlaw, Steven E. Martin.
Surviving are her five loving children, Patricia E. Curtis (William A. Curtis, Jr.) of Saugerties, James A. Boyle (Patricia A. Boyle) of Kingston, Elizabeth M. Salvatore (Joseph P. Salvatore) of Saugerties, Kathleen A. Amell (Raymond S. Amell) of Palm Bay, Fla., and Mary J. Martin of Saugerties; one sister, Frances Janeski of Amsterdam; five grandchildren, Anthony R. Curtis, James F. Boyle (Stacy), Sara Jane Schneller (Austin), Angela M. and Joseph P. Salvatore, Jr.; five greatgrandchildren,
Samantha Jane Schneller, Aksel Lange Schneller, Chase Joseph Martin, Alivia Ann and James Patrick Boyle. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Her Funeral Procession will form 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Thence to St. Mary of the Snow where at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will be in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home.
