Madeline B. ‘Sis’ Tatarzewski, 95, of Kingston

KINGSTON » Madeline B. “Sis” Tatarzewski, 95, of Kingston, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Health-Alliance Hospital, Broadway campus.

Born June 13, 1922, in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Peter R. and Elizabeth (Zakrzewski) Tucker.

For many years, Sis managed the Coffee Shop at the Benedictine Hospital. She also worked at the uptown Woolworth Store in the shoe department. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, was selected Rosarian of the year, and was a volunteer at bingo.

Surviving are her children, Madeline “Maggie” Callahan and her husband John, Mary Marallo and Michael Tatarzewski; her grandchildren, Matthew Marallo and his wife Heidi, Hilary Hickox and her husband Jason, Leah Hammer and her husband Dan; and her greatgrandchildren, Bradley, Reese, Rachael, Kellyn and Reagan.

Her husband, Walter “Toddy” Tatarzewski; brothers, Donald and Christopher Tucker; and granddaughter, Catherine Callahan, all died previously.

Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In keeping with Sis’ instructions, there will be no visitation.
