New Paltz turns aside Wallkill

Marcus Fariello doubled twice and drove in two runs, and Aidan Hoffman tripled and had a RBI, as New Paltz High beat Wallkill 13-7 in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League baseball game Tuesday.

Mike Holohan got the win allowing six hits and six runs in 3 1/3 innings. Mike Lunati hit two singles and drove in two runs and Alex Baresse had two singles to lead the Huguenots. Nick Scarano was tagged the loss, striking out three, while allowing four runs, three of them earned, and three hits in three innings.

Andrew Strobach hit two doubles and drove in two runs, Cole Popowick and Dan Hopper each had two RBI and Ryan Adkins singled twice to pace the Panthers. Pine Plains 7, Millbrook 1

At Pine Plains, the Bombers scored four runs in the bottom of the first, added two more in the third and another in the sixth, as they downed the Blazers.

Calab McCaul got the win fanning six, while allowing two hits, three walks and no runs in five innings in his season debut. Tyler Funk struck out one, while allowing one run and three walks in two innings of relief.

McCaul also had a stolen base, had two RBI and scored twice; Adam Funk had four walks, stole three bases and scored a run; Derek Koch stole two bases, had a RBI and a scored a run; Matt Funk drove in a run; Ethan Generelli stole a base, had a RBI and scored a run; Tyler Funk stole a base and scored a run; while Evan Proper and Kane Kozlowski each had a RBI for (4-1, 3-0) Pine Plains.

Eli Stowe took the loss, striking out four, while allowing seven earned runs, seven hits and four walks. Stowe and Nick Barello each doubled to carry (03) Millbrook.
