Rondout edges Marlboro for MHAL win

Bianca Novotny had three hits, including a double, while Gigi Koch went 3 for 3, to lead Rondout Valley past Marlboro High, 5-4, in a MidHudson Athletic League softball contest on Wednesday.

Tori Decker and Jessica Meyer each had two hits, including a home run, in the victory.

Sydney Shutta went 3 for 3, while Shannon Camuso (double) and Marissa Spoto went 2 for 3 each for the (53) Dukes. Roosevelt 9, Wallkill 1

At Hyde Park, Bri Palermo’s first-inning basesclear­ing triple led (3-1 MHAL, 7-1 overall) Roosevelt.

Liz Miller recorded three hits and two RBI, Aliya Feerick delivered three hits and Amanda Owens had two to pace the President’s attack.

Madchen Knauss allowed just one run, walked none and fanned five in a complete-game effort.

Kyle Detz had three hits, Maddy Magilone singled twice and Tro Meisner had a single and double for Wallkill. Red Hook 9, Highland 6

At Highland, Alexis Murphy and Samantha Lascalzo each hit solo homers as part of two-hit performanc­es, Grace Beach singled twice and Alyssa Virgo drove in a run to lead Red Hook to victory.

Paige Dauenheime­r smacked a three-run homer en route to driving in four runs, and pitched two innings of scoreless relief to help lead (1-3) Highland.

Mollee Stafford was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, Sheree Mills singled and scored twice, Dakota Willow had a RBI double and Ella Cappillino had two hits and a RBI to carry the Huskies. New Paltz 10, Saugerties 4

At New Paltz, Jill Harrison singled, doubled and struck out 13 in a six-inning stint to lead the (3-2) Huguenots. Paige Sarvis pitched the last inning.

JoJo Tanzi also had a pair of hits for the Hugies.

Christie Collins went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Saugerties.
