FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. » Suzanne Faith Cohen, 85, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at noon at Kerhonkson Synagogue Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Eva Marissa of Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla., daughter, Abby Cohen of Palm Springs, Calif., and daughter, Geri Rhoades and her husband Malcolm Bishopp of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Her son, Joseph Cohen, predeceased her.

She was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren, including Jennifer Decker, Thomas Decker, Greg O’Mahony, Austin O’Mahony, Hunter O’Mahony, Stephen Rhoades and Samuel Cohen and greatgrandmother to Aiden McElveen. She was the devoted sister of Andrew Neiderman.

Her high school yearbook summed her up like this. “Her walk is her trademark, her name is Suzanne, that look in her eye means she landed her man.” She spent her adult life as a nurse for Ellenville Community Hospital, where she was known for her skill and compassion. Suzanne was married to Samuel Cohen, and lived in Kerhonkson, N.Y., before his passing in 1990.

Her children would like to thank her for making “things” for dinner, their natural paranoia of picking up a drink after putting it down in a public place, teaching them how to own a room, creating drama where there wasn’t any, and demonstrating to us how “not” to cook. We will miss her beyond measure and hope that she is with her husband and son in a better place.
