Pine Bush pulled away in the late innings for a 10-4 victory, completing a three-game sweep of Kingston in Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association Division I play.

The Bushmen, who swept a doubleheader from the Tigers on Wednesday, scored four runs in the third to build a 5-0 lead. Matt Dubois keyed that rally with a two-run homer.

Kingston fought back with a three-run fourth. Joe Ferrer started it off with a triple, followed by Garrett Warnecke and Christian Ott single. Bradley Jordan’s sacrifice fly made it 5-3.

Pine Bush countered with three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to pull away. Logan DeVries went six innings for the win.

Devin Moore had three hits, including a double and two RBI, DeVries had two hits and two RBI and Haakon Meland a pair of hits for the Bushmen.

“It was good to see the guys battle back after down five early,” said Kingston coach Mike Groppuso, whose team fell to 3-4 overall and 2-4 in the division.

“We had some mental mistakes that took us out of innings. They capitalized on every mistake and just played better baseball than us,” Groppuso added. “We understand what we need to do. It’s just a matter of staying mentally locked in every pitch.

“We can ill afford to hurt ourselves and that is exactly what we have been doing in every factor of the game and at critical points.”

Ferrer finished with two hits and Thomas Restivo singled twice for the Tigers. Nate Coffey took the loss.

Kingston is at Middletown Monday for the start of another three-game series.
