Woodstock Library hosts forum April 28
WHAT: Library forum event WHEN: April 28 from 5 to 6 p.m.
DETAILS: Woodstock Library, 5 Library Lane, Woodstock
DETAILS: The Woodstock Library Forum will present medium and author Hollister Rand. She will provide specific and spontaneous messages to audience members from loved ones in spirit. She will also read from, discuss and sign copies of her book “I’m Not Dead, I‘m Different.” Her book offers enlightenment, guidance and answers to the questions about living, dying and life after death that many people have been afraid to ask. Admission is free.

Chekov play ‘Uncle Vanya’ opens run May 10
WHAT: Play, “Uncle Vanya”
WHERE: Preview performance May 10 at 8 p.m.; regular peformances May 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 8 p.m. and May 13, 20 and 27 at 1:30 p.m.

DETAILS: Performing Arts of Woodstock will present the Anton Checkhov play “Uncle Vanya” as its spring production. “Uncle Vanya” features a dispirited family in the midst of several dilemmas. Almost all of the characters are yearning for change, but are unable to manage that change. Their inability to see beyond their present circumstances is often funny as well as touching and a reminder to the audience of how hard it is to change oneself. Tickets are $23, $20 for seniors and students. Group prices are available.
