Goshen overcomes Red Hook

Despite Hudson Miller’s five goals, Red Hook High fell short, losing 10-8 to Goshen in an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n boys lacrosse match on Tuesday.

Jacob Lingerman had two goals and an assist, while Dean Bowen and Xavier McKenna scored two goals each to lead the (3-2 overall, 2-0 OCIAA) Gladiators, who outscored the (2-4, 1-1) Raiders 5-1 in the third quarter after Goshen trailed 5-3 at halftime.

Jared Cassel (assist), Brandon McGrath (assist), Drew Raggio (assist) and Niel Lingerman scored a goal each, while Jimmy Linderman made 14 saves in the win.

Brian Kelly had two goals and an assist, while Luca Viverito added a goal for Red Hook. Owen Sagerman (two assists) and Tanner Guidi (assist) also contribute­d on offense, while Gabe Yozzo stopped nine shots in the loss. Highland 16, Millbrook 2

At Millbrook, Roger Hegemen scored seven goals as the Huskies rolled over the Blazers.

Highland went up 5-0 in the first, then extended that lead to 11-2 at the half, before adding four more in the third to go up 15-2.

Jesse Weaver scored two goals and had two assists; Christian Canino and Mike Caso each found the net twice and had an assist; Chris Hammond contribute­d two goals; Jack Young added a goal; and Mike Cernigilia tacked on an assist to round out the (4-4, 2-1) Huskies’ attack.

Ryan Olmstead and Ryan Hall scored a goal each to carry (5-2) Millbrook.

Lenny Casabura registered 11 saves for Highland, while Matt Castegnozz­i and Scott Bonelli combined to stop 11 shots for the Blazers. New Paltz 19, Rhinebeck 2

At New Paltz, Daegan Cronin scored three goals and had seven assists; Noam Schwartz had three goals and four assists; and Oscar Key added three goals and two assists for the Huguenots.

Abe Wiedenkell­er found the net three times; Aidan Cuppett scored two goals and had an assist; Brett Fischer and Marco Fusco each added a goal and an assist; JC Rigano, Baastian Keesan and Luciano Crimi each contribute­d a goal and Michael Simpson tacked on an assist to lead New Paltz.

T.J Cassidy scored both of the Hawks’ goals.

Giovanni Guido had 14 saves for the Huguenots, while Nicolas Kordman had 11 for Rhinebeck. Saugerties 16, Burke 6

At Goshen, Robbie Martin had eight goals and four assists to lead the (4-4) Sawyers.

Tavin Rell had seven goals and three assists, while Cameron Kouhout rounded the scoring in the win. Caleb Edwards contribute­d three assists, while Tyler Swanson (17 saves) and Chris Swanson (one save) were in goal for Saugerties.

David Ross scored two goals, while Ethan Baroch, James Juliano and Grant Stevens added a goal an an assist each for the (1-4) Eagles.
