2 overdoses — one fatal — lead to 4 arrests
Three Red Hook residents and a Kingston man face drug charges in connection with the April 21 cases.
RED HOOK, N.Y. » Three Red Hook residents and a Kingston man face drug charges following an investigation into two April 21 drug overdoses in the town, one of which was fatal, authorities said Friday.
The following suspects were arrested after the state police Troop K Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and village of Red Hook police executed a search warrant in a predawn raid at a residence off South Broadway in the village.
• Joseph Clark, 25, and Amanda R. Wooden, 26, both of Red Hook, each on a felony charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, along with misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Clark and Wooden were arraigned in Hyde Park Town Court. Clark was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail pending a May 24 appearance in Red Hook Town Court; Wooden was jailed in lieu of $2,500 bail pending a May 24 appearance in Red Hook Town Court.
• Cody A. Alexander, 25, of Kingston, and Kayla J. Travis, 28, of Red Hook, on two counts each of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Both were released pending May 24 appearances in Red Hook Town Court.
Police said they seized an undisclosed amount of heroin in the raid, along with a small amount of marijuana, more than $2,000 in U.S. currency, “an unlawfully possessed firearm” and assorted drug paraphernalia.
