RHINEBECK » Jacqueline Olsen, born Jan. 29, 1941, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2018.

Jackie was born at Fort Riley, Kansas, to the late Wallace Brewer of Harlem, Ga., and the late Lorraine Courtright of La Veta, Colo.

For many years, Jackie was an office manager and bookstore manager, although her most avid interest was in the area of knitting design. She was a local teacher of knitting design at Amazing Threads in Kingston and had marketed many of her designs through them. Additional­ly, she had numerous designs published in magazines and books.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Olsen, originally of St. Paul, Minnesota, whom she married in 1959. She had three children, and is survived by Elizabeth Ketudat of Nahant, Mass., and William Olsen of Kingston, N.Y. She is also survived by her sister, Janet, of Longmont, Colo., as well as two grandchild­ren and three greatgrand­children.

Her son, Michael Olsen of Astoria, Queens, is deceased.

A funeral service will be held at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Stone Ridge on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., with inurnment at Christ the King Columbariu­m. A reception will follow.

Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston, is honored to assist the family with the arrangemen­ts.
