Cornerstone Remodeling captures B Division title
Cornerstone Remodeling toppled Mainetti, Mainetti & O’Connor 58-41 to take the Kingston Recreation League Men’s Over 30 B Division Basketball championship.
Leading 32-29 after a close first half, Cornerstone pulled ahead with a 26-12 second half en route to the win.
Prescott Saunders scored 17 points, John Garcia had 14 and Rob Smith added 11 to lead Cornerstone in the victory.
Rob Leghorn scored 15 points, Tom Basciano added 11 and James Jones tacked on nine to pace Mainetti.
Mainetti, Mainetti & O’Connor beat Woodstock United 52-45 and Cornerstone Remodeling edged the Faircloth Fades 47-46 to advance to the championship game.
After playing Woodstock United to a 24-24 tie in the first half, Mainetti pulled ahead 28-21 in the second.
Phil Beechel scored 19 points and Fred Monroe had 11 to lead Mainetti.
Dylan Caprotti scored 14 to carry Woodstock United.
Cornerstone Remodeling held off a 29-22 second half surge by the Fades to win 47-46.
John Garcia scored 14 points and Prescott Saunders and Rob Smith each contributed 13 to power Cornerstone.
Trevor Johnson scored 21 points and Kay Faircloth added 15 to pace Faircloth.
