Kingston bounces back from 1st loss for easy win

Kingston High bounced back from its first boys lacrosse loss to rout Valley Central 15-3 in an OCIAA matchup.

Justin Longo had four goals and an assist, while Chapman Parker added four goals, as Kingston High bounced back from its first boys lacrosse loss to defeat Valley Central 15-3 in an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n match on Monday.

Josh Timbrouck had three goals and one assist, while Ty Carpino added two goals for the (9-1) Tigers, who improved to 5-0 in OCIAA play. Kingston’s lone loss cam last Saturday when it dropped an 8-5 decision at Arlington. Aidan Lobianco (assist) and John Prizzi added a goal each.

Drew Carpino and Jack Uhl had two assists each, while Matt Amato and Chris Chiera added an assist each in the win. David Lattin was 13 for 17 in faceoffs, with Nick Breithaupt making 10 saves for the Tigers.

Kader Price scored two goals, while Randy Rosario added a goal and two assists to lead the Vikings. Peter Heurich, meanwhile, stopped 20 shots in the loss.

At Highland, Roger Hegeman, Chris Hammond and Christian Canino combined for 13 goals and the (6-4) Huskies spread the rest of the scoring over eight other players.

Hegeman scored five goals and Hammond and Canino added four each in the win. Danny Rusk had two goals and four assists; Michael Caso added a goal and one assist; Jack Young and Ethan Esposito both scored, Jesse Weaver chipped in with two assists and Mike Cerniglia and Will Minard each had an assist for the Huskies.

Jack Gillard had two goals and two assists, Greg Moretto scored twice, Cameron Growney added a goal and one assist and Alex Burns and Chris Rose both tallied for (2-6) Cornwall.

Goalkeeper Lenny Casabura had six saves for Highland. Mike Cassidy stopped 17 shots for the Dragons. Wallkill 14, Roosevelt 5

At Wallkill, Alex Lewis had four goals and two assists, Stefon Miller added three goals and an assist, Stefon Miller had at hat trick, Even Hathaway chipped in with two goals and two assists, Chad Castle distribute­d three assists and Bryce Hetherly and Paul Shea also scored to lead the Panthers to victory.

Griffin Pelish and Owen Williams had two goals apiece, Elijah Hewitt also scored and Patrick Dolan added an assist to pace Roosevelt.

Panther goalie Dylan Jowell had 17 saves. Warwick 16, Saugerties 1

At Saugerties, Jordan Pinskey had a hat trick, Eric Oimsla added three goals and two assists, Kenton Mears had five assists to go with a goal, Jay Hranitz scored twice, Matt Meade added two goals and an assist, Chris Matota, Quinn Ketchum and Austin Holder all chipped in with a goal and one assist, Matt Hansen and Brian Beuber also tallied and Zahc Ripp contribute­d with an assist to lead (8-2) Warwick.

Cameron Kouhout scored on Robbie Martin’s assist for (4-5) Saugerties’ only goal.

Tyler Swanson and Chris Swanson combined on 17 saves for the Sawyers, while Warwick goalie Sam Sterg had five saves.
