Kingston nets pair of victories

Kingston High’s boys tennis team kept on rolling Friday, sweeping a makeup twinbill against Monroe-Woodbury.

The Tigers won the opening match 5-2 with 10-point tiebreak for third sets and took the second match, played on a 10-game pro set, 4-3.

With the sweep, Kingston improved its record to 5-0 in the Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n’s Division I and 7-1 overall.

The second doubles team of Keith Denarie and Andre Gutierrz provided the spark for the Tigers, rallying for 6-7 (5), 6-4, 10-6 then 10-8 victories over Nick McEntyre and Brendan Stewart.

Bradley Hack and David Trott captured both their singles matches for Kingston, which is home again Monday against Newburgh Free Academy. Kingston 5, Monroe-Woodbury 2 Bradley Hack (K) def.
