The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Durham
• DWI/drugs: Lawrence G. Smith, 58, of Windham, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 11:30 p.m. Saturday on county Route 27 on charges of drunken driving (previous conviction in 10 years), operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content exceeding 0.08 percent and aggravated unlicensed operation (alcohol), all felonies, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. He was also charged with unlawful marijuana possession, a violation. Smith was released pending a court appearance.
Greenville
• Endangering: Denis P. Clark, 34, and Michelle P. Kearsing, 26, both of Freehold, were arrested by state police at Catskill at 4 p.m. Saturday at 264 Red Mills Road. Kearsing was charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Clark was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Both were held pending arraignment.
Olive
• DWI: Heidi E. Randall, 32, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on state Route 28A at County Route 3 on charges of drunken driving (previous conviction in 10 years), a felony, and obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Randall was also issued traffic tickets for failure to keep right on a two-lane road, moving from lane unsafely, driving on a shoulder, failure to stop at a stop sign and refusal to take a breath test. Wawarsing
• Contraband in prison: Destiny M. Rodriguez, 20, of Brooklyn, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 8:40 a.m. Saturday on Institution Road on charges of introducing contraband into prison, a misdemeanor, and unlawful marijuana possession, a violation. Rodriguez was released with tickets for Wawarsing Town Court.
• Drugs: Kashaun B. Carlie, 32, of Brooklyn, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 11:04 a.m. Saturday at 750 Berme Road and was charged with two counts each of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia (scales) and one count each of criminal use of drug paraphernalia (packaging) and criminal possession of marijuana greater than 25 grams, all misdemeanors. Carlie was released with appearance tickets for Wawarsing Town Court.
