Kingston moves into first in Division I

Kingston High took sole possession of first place in the Orange County Interschol­astic’s Division I in boys tennis Monday with a big 5-2 triumph over Newburgh Free Academy.

The (8-1 overall) Tigers were 5-0 in the division coming into the match at Forsythe Park. Newburgh, 7-4 overall, was 6-0.

Bradley Hack and David Trott scored straight-set singles wins for Kingston.

The Tigers swept the doubles to clinch the win, including comeback victories by the first and second doubles teams after both dropped their first set 6-4.

Mike Esposito and Andre Janums came back to beat Arnav Shah and Aarav Shah 6-3, 7-5. Keith Denarie and Andre Gutierez bounced back to top Raj Patel and Shabog Islov 6-3, 6-2.

Brendan Ortlieb and Sander Janums scored a straight-set win at third doubles for Kingston.
