Highland overwhelms Red Hook

Jesse Weaver scored four goals, leading Highland High to an 11-3 Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n boys lacrosse victory over Red Hook on Monday.

Chris Hammond, Roger Hegeman and Michael Caso scored two goals apiece, while Christian Canino added a goal and two assists for the (4-1 OCIAA, 9-4 overall) Huskies, who led 6-1 at halftime. Danny Rusk had an assist, while Lenny Casabura made 10 saves in the win.

Hudson Miller had two goals, while Ryan Cian rounded the scoring for the (2-3, 6-6) Raiders. Jon Chilinski and Luca Viverito had assists, while Gabe Yozzo stopped eight shots in the loss. Rondout 19, New Paltz 7

At New Paltz, Joe Serrano scored five goals, while Matt Kelly added four, to lead the Ganders to the easy victory.

Jason Perez (two assists) and Jarek Rawl (three assists) scored three goals each, while Spencer Sands added two goals and two assists in the win. Joe MacCreery and Greg Newman scored a goal each; Sam Serrano had six assists; while Ian Houck made 13 saves for Rondout.

Daegan Cronin had two goals and two assists to lead the Huguenots, while Oscar Kay (one assist), Abe Weidenkell­er (one assist), Noam Schwartz (one assist), JC Rigano and Bastian Keesen added a goal each. At Saugerties, Jared Cassel had four goals and three assists to lead the Gladiators.

Jacob Lingerman (three assists) and Dean Bowen scored two goals apiece, while Brandon McGrath (two assists), Niel Lingerman (one assist), Jack Kurek, Jake Kunis and Owen Smyth added a goal each. Chris Masker had an assist, while Jimmy Linderman made nine saves in the win.

Robbie Martin led the (47) Sawyers with three goals, while Tavin Rell added the other goal. Christian DeAngelis-Martin had two assists, with Chris Swanson and Tyler Swanson combining to stop 17 shots in the loss.
