Athens

• Drugs: Michael S. Pettway, 25, of Schenectad­y, was arrested by state police at Albany at 11:55 p.m. Thursday on the New York State Thruway and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeano­r, and possession of marijuana, a violation. Pettway was released with appearance tickets for Athens Town Court.

Cairo

• Drugs: Megan E. Smith, 33, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 7:34 p.m. Thursday on state Route 23B and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and having a false inspection certificat­e, both misdemeano­rs, and with possession of marijuana, a violation. Smith was released with appearance tickets for Cairo Town Court.

Durham

• Criminal mischief: Dylan T. Abel, 20, of East Durham, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at noon Thursday and was charged with criminal mischief to property valued at more than $750, a felony, and with menacing and reckless endangerme­nt, both misdemeano­rs. Abel was released with a appearance tickets for Durham Town Court.

Esopus

• DWI: Patrick H. Martin, 35, of Ulster Park, was arrested by state police at Highland at 5:16 a.m. Friday at 173 Ulster Ave. and was charged with drunken driving and aggravated unlicensed driving, both felonies, driving with a bloodalcoh­ol content exceeding 0.08 percent, a misdemeano­r, and unsafe backing, an infraction. Martin’s status was unavailabl­e.

Saugerties

• Drugs/tampering with

evidence: Kayla HackettMow­er, 29, homeless, and Justin Gonzalez, 27, of 108 Kate St., Wallkill, were arrested by Saugerties police Thursday on North Street in the village. Police responded to the parking area next to Sawyer Motors on North Street following a report of possible drug activity and said Hackett-Mower and Gonzalez tried to conceal a plastic bag containing heroin and marijuana from police. Gonzalez also allegedly possessed suboxone sublingual film without a prescripti­on, police said. Both suspects were charged with the criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument and tampering with physical evidence, all misdemeano­rs, and with possession of marijuana, a violation. Hackett-Mower was released with tickets for Saugerties Village Court. Gonzalez was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail pending a court appearance.

Shawangunk

• DWI: Casey R. Roggia, 29, of Gardiner, was arrested by state police at Highland at 10:45 p.m. Thursday at 1936 Albany Post Road and was charged with drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving, both misdemeano­rs. Roggia was released with tickets for Shawangunk Town Court.

Town of Ulster

• DWAI-drugs/DWI: Peter Thompson, 48, of Queensbury, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 10:40 p.m. Thursday on Washington Avenue in the town and charged with drunken driving and driving while ability impaired by drugs, both misdemeano­rs. Thompson was released with tickets for Ulster Town Court.
