Nancy A. Rittie, 61, of Saugerties

Nancy A. Rittie, 61, of Saugerties, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, Kingston.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Katie Lenhart Farrell. Nancy was a warm and welcoming woman who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, music, penny socials, yard sales, and D.J.-ing for car shows with her husband. She served as secretary for the East Kingston Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed her work caring for children at Head Start and Wolf’s Daycare Center.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Brian Rittie of Saugerties, whom she married on July 15, 1978; their son, Christopher Rittie, his partner Michelle Johnson; their son, John Christopher Rittie of Kingston; and their daughter, Hollie Walsh and her husband, Jeffrey of Saugerties; and her sister, Jean McGuinness of Southampton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 1 p.m. at New Paltz Rural Cemetery, 81 Plains Road, New Paltz, N.Y. 12561, with Pastor Kendra VanHouten from Fair Street Reformed Church officiating.
