CALABASH, N.C. » Ann Justine Michaels of Calabash, N.C., passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her husband and family, after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

Born on Nov. 29, 1947, in Kingston, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Verna (Pearson) Noble. Ann was married in 1970 to Richard J. Michaels. She had been a longtime resident of Saugerties, N.Y., and was employed at Central Hudson for many years. She spent the last ten years of her life doing what she loved most: golfing, traveling the world, and doting on her grandchild­ren. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by three children, Richard D. Michaels (Stacey) of New Hartford, N.Y., Lisa Michaels of Mamaroneck, N.Y., and Karyn Pavich (Johnny) of Astoria, N.Y.; as well as five grandchild­ren, Daniel and Matthew Michaels, and Ivo, Marko, and Lana Pavich. She is also survived by her sister, Pamela Carroll (John) of Bernville, Pa., and her brother, Paul V. Noble (Regina), of Port Charlotte, Fla.

One sister, Karen E. Noble, predecease­d her. A celebratio­n of Ann’s life will be held at the VFW in Calabash, N.C., on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Should friends desire, memorial contributi­ons may be made in Ann’s memory to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation.
