Dutchess Office for the Aging schedules programs
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. » The Dutchess County Office for the Aging has scheduled the following programs:
• Tuesday, May 15, at 11 a.m., “Preventing and Reversing Chronic Disease,” with Office for the Aging nutrition coordinator Nimesh Bhargava, at the Millerton Senior Friendship Center at Village Hall, Simmnons Street and Dutchess Avenue, Millerton.
• Wednesday, May 16, at noon, “Preventing Chronic Illness with a Healthy Lifestyle,” with nutrition coordinator Nimesh Bhargava, at Horizons at Fishkill, 14 Dogwood Lane, Beacon.
• Thursday, May 17, at 11 a.m., “Preventing and Reversing Chronic Illness,” with nutrition coordinator Nimesh Bhargava, at the East Fishkill Senior Friendship Center, 890 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
• Wednesday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 25th Annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day, St. Simeon Properties, 24 Beechwod Ave., Poughkeepsie. The event will feature educational programs on health and wellness, a free lunch and door prizes. Call (845) 471-0171 for more information on this event.
The Office for the Aging offers presentations on its services, successful aging, Medicare/Medicaid, senior housing, nutrition and more. To request a presentation for a senior, social and/or civic group, contact outreach coordinator Brian Jones at (845) 486-2555 or bjones@dutchessny.gov. All a group needs to provide is a venue that’s wheelchairaccessible and open to the public, with space to set up a projector and screen. The Office for the Aging has its own projector and screen, but let it know if your group has them.
