Kingston Bowling Hall set to induct 6 members
The Kingston Bowling Association Hall of Fame will induct six new members on Friday.
Kingston High’s Scott Kleeschulte, Jake Hommel and Donte Groppuso all qualified for the state golf tournament after solid performances Wednesday in that final round of the Section 9 tourney at Casperkill Golf Club.
Spackenkill’s Erik Stauderman won the title, shooting an even par 35-37—72. He parred the 18th hole to beat Kleeschulte by one stroke with his two-day 147. Kleeschulte, who led by two strokes after the first round, bogeyed the 18th and finished with a 39-38— 77 for a 148 total.
Hommel, who shot a 38-39—77, tied for third with Washingtonville’s Matt Dickson at 150. Groppuso, who carded a 39-39—78, was eighth with a 159.
In last week’s Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association championships, Kleeschulte and Hommel placed third and fourth, respectively, with Dickson winning the league title.
The top nine qualify for the June 3-4 New York State Public High School Athletic Association tournament at Cornell University.
Michael Caso and Danny Rusk both had assists to pace the (12-5) Huskies.
Drew Raggio and Xavier McKenna scored two goals apiece, Jeremy Cassel and Brendan McGrath each had a goal and two assists, Dean Bowen added a goal and an assist, Chris Masker scored, Jack Kurek dished out two assists and Neil Linderman had one to lead (10-4) Goshen.
Lenny Casabura had eight saves in goal for Highland. Goshen keeper Jimmy Linderman made 10 saves.
